Sunomono from Mt. Fuji Japanese Japanese - Albany, NY

This is a Sunomono plate. Usually filled with various sorts of sashimi and seaweed salad and topped with a nice vinaigrette. Great to share if you're ever at a sushi restaurant.

Other such great jewels you don't usually get: hamachi gama (hamachi jowl), ankimo (monk fish liver)

Soba Noodles - Mt Fuji Japanese Cuisine - Albany, NY

One of the best warm weather dishes ever is the cold soba noodle salad. It's very refreshing with tons of light and healthy flavor.

This one comes from Mt Fuji Japanese Cuisine in Albany, NY. I really enjoyed this little strip mall Japanese restaurant because of the amount of care they put into preparing the food. Everything was deliberately placed on the plate and the service was great. It's part of the Stuyvesant Shopping Center, but it doesn't quite feel like it should be. (that's a good thing)
