Marché - Nashville, TN

I love it when you take a chance on a restaurant that everyone is raving about and it actually turns out to be a great spot. Marché is located in a up and coming part of Nashville and serves up some really great brunch with great espresso drinks and food.
Smoked Trout Croquette with Apple Fennel Salad
If you've ever gone out to eat with me you know that I like to order too many things with the excuse of needing blog material. Well I'm just a glutton and need to eat too many things to fill my ginormous stomach. This trout croquette was probably the favorite part of my meal. Surprisingly good and fresh and almost no fishiness. The texture of the fish is well preserved in the dish and the nice salad on the side is a home run.
Butternut Squash Soup with Toasted Pumpkin Seeds
I love soup, and that makes me pretty critical of soups. I often make soups myself and thoroughly disappoint myself in the process. It's definitely an art to make a good soup with good flavor and consistency. THIS soup was nice and smooth with a little bite to it. The toasted pumpkin seeds and fresh olive oil are a nice touch.
Boulangere Potatoes
A note to restaurants: If you put on the menu that a dish is made with duck fat, pork fat, or any other kind of fat, I'm more than likely going to order it. Fat = flavor, unfortunately the demonization of fat in America has turned it into kryptonite for the average joe. Fat will not kill you or make you fat as long as you're exercising, eating a well balanced diet, and of course moderating yourself! Eat fat, just don't eat it every day.
Croissant French Toast
I don't know why but I've never thought to make french toast with a croissant. It's a good idea. Give it a try at home, the crust gets nice and crispy from the butter in the croissant and the end product is divine!
Two Eggs over Falls Mill Polenta and Parmesan Cheese
You know I ordered this dish. It's just grits with eggs. I love grits and when I make them at home this is how I make them. I just put everything together and mix it up in the bowl. It's a simple recipe that I'm sure could be easily duplicated at home.
These are just a couple shots from inside Marché. I love the bright open atmosphere the restaurant has.
Anyways, I hope you'll check it out if you get a chance and maybe you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Were you in Nashville this weekend? If so, what are you guys up to here?
Oh no I wasn't. This was a back post from Halloween.
Sorry for the confusion.
Looks delish! Looking forward to checking this place out when we swing through Nashville after Bonnaroo. Thanks for the suggestions! Love your blog!
Marche is one of my favorite breakfast/brunch places in Nashville. I usually get the quiche of the day. yum!
