Akiko's Restaurant - San Francisco, CA


After a marathon day of eating, guided by my long time friends Pam and Alvin. We came across Pam's favorite sushi spot in San Francisco. Mind you, at this point in the day I've already eaten some 6-8 meals, but Pam insisted we stop in for some Uni(sea urchin). She spoke with the owner and convinced him to open up a new package of uni from Hokkaido. The uni was so buttery and smoothe, the flavor so barely briny, creamy, and not even a trace of fishiness.

Local Eats: Lantern - Chapel Hill, NC


One of my sponsors happens to be my brother-in-law, Larry J Moray. Larry and Jin Yi (my sister) decided to take me and my other sister Si Nae out to a nice dinner at the Lantern. The Lantern has quickly become the "go to" spot for delicious local food in Chapel Hill. They feature some exciting appetizers and amazing entrees and in my honest opinion, the best deserts in town. This was our meal in all it's glory. Foodies beware, there are dishes here that will make you drool on the keyboard.

Conti - Brunswick Head, NSW, Australia


We arrived at Colongata Airport early enough in the morning the day of our first performance at Byron Bay Bluesfest to stop off at a nice spot for lunch. The beauty of the country side here really struck an accord with me right away. It's unlike the country side you see in NC but more like what you'd see in Hawaii. The lush trees are spotted with bright colorful flowers and the air smells sweeter for some reason. Conti (short for continental) was recommended to us by our artist liaison from the festival.
