Avett New Year's Eating Guide - Knoxville, TN

Here's a list of restaurants I've compiled for all you Avett Folks travelling in from out of town on 12/30/2009. Tell me what you think of the places. I've only read about these places and heard good things from the grape vine. Knoxville is juuuuust a little too far to go restaurant shopping. Happy Trails!

Check back in tomorrow for Asheville's eating guide.

Tomato Head is the best in my opinion out of this list. Options for any type of eater. Litton's will have the best burger. Try Downtown Grill and Brewery for some great food close to the TN Theater. There aren't any places I can think of on Market Square that are bad either. Soccer Taco, Oodles, Trio, La Costa (AWESOME margaritas and unique food choices!)...AND, I almost forgot about my most favorite place in all of Knoxville. You must try Cafe 4 on Market Square!!!! Lobster Mac and Cheese is to die for, all the flatbread choices are yummy, Knife and Fork Caesar Salad, and I think it was a Grouper Sandwich I had that was heavenly! I don't miss an opportunity to eat there! Can you tell I like food? :-)

Litton's is amazing. Not quite diner-ish but not quite upscale sit-down restaurant either. Some of the best burgers I've ever had.

Tomato Head? Nah, check out Big Ed's Pizza. After living in Brooklyn, NY it is the best pizza I've found outside of NYC.

Also, Downtown Grill and Brewery has a varied (and funny) menu with everything from American, to Southwest, to Italian, to seafood.

In the mood for sushI? Nama on Gay St. in Downtown Knoxville is where it's at.

Feeling like having a taste of Britain? The Crown and Goose. Delicious fish 'n chips.
