Local Eats: Over Easy

French Toast
I don't get up to Asheville, NC often enough. It's just outside my comfort drive and I'm rarely home enough as it is. But, when I do get up there it's like a diners paradise. Over Easy is one of my stops every time I go. The inside of this little restaurant is super cute but tight so expect to wait in line if you're not there at the right time. The wait is well worth it though!

Justin, Crackerfarm, Cat, and I got an early start to our day this new years eve morning. If you recall we played a few New Years shows in 2009 and Asheville fell on the night of 12/31/2009. There is absolutely nothing better for your morale than a really good breakfast. That's kinda what I believe most of the time. Breakfast to me can be so bland and so monotonous sometimes and to find a place that seems to know how I think about breakfast, and then change it up just the way I didn't know I wanted it changed, is priceless. That's kinda how I feel here.

Huevos Rancheros
Probably my favorite breakfast dish is huevos rancheros. I love huevos and I love rancheros so why wouldn't I love huevos rancheros. I have no idea what that means, but I can't get enough of this dish. I order it 99% of the time if it's on a menu no matter what time of day it is. These guys do it just the way I like, with an over easy egg on top and lots of chorizo!

Cubano
Anyways, if you're driving through Asheville, or going to a show at the orang peel and you need a nice comforting, cozy place to stop off for some breakfast don't go here. This is my restaurant! Just kidding. Hope you have a chance to check this place out and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Cheers,

our favorite breakfast spot in asheville. I always tend to order the breakfast sandwich (croissant, egg, veggie "sausage") with potatoes. Such a great spot.
For any vegetarians out there craving really good biscuits and vege-safe gravy - my wife says OverEasy cannot be beat.

Overeasy is great, but if you want to try some out of this world huevos rancheros, go to sunny point in west asheville. SO incredible! Mostly locally grown food and grass raised meat.. you can't beat the overall food quality. Mmm.
