Big Bananas Nightshop - Amsterdam, Holland


Just a quick post about a shop I fell in love with while we were briefly in Holland. This place wasn't the cheapest place in the world but it was open late and it was stocked with a lot of fresh produce and not crowded with people who were . . . uh . . . out of sorts. :)

Mai Thai - Amsterdam, Holland


Crackerfarm and I went out on many outings trying to find things to do and places to eat while we were in Amsterdam. We were there longer than anywhere else on this most recent tour. I've been told to stay away from restaurants that don't have many people sitting in them during peak hours. But sometimes you just have to go with what feels right.

Conti - Brunswick Head, NSW, Australia


We arrived at Colongata Airport early enough in the morning the day of our first performance at Byron Bay Bluesfest to stop off at a nice spot for lunch. The beauty of the country side here really struck an accord with me right away. It's unlike the country side you see in NC but more like what you'd see in Hawaii. The lush trees are spotted with bright colorful flowers and the air smells sweeter for some reason. Conti (short for continental) was recommended to us by our artist liaison from the festival.

Spice Temple - Sydney, Australia


Well, never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine music would take me to the far reaches of the world. I was always amazed growing up at how many places music had taken me and I'm ever so grateful for my luck or blessings. Here I am sitting in a cool shishi restaurant in Sydney, Australia sipping on a tropical cocktail with hints of ginger and raspberry purée. This was quite an amazing experience for me as it was one of the first times I've enjoyed "fusion".
